Storyline:
Death Note follows brilliant student Light Yagami, who discovers a supernatural notebook that can kill anyone whose name is written in it. Believing he can create a crime-free world, he secretly becomes the vigilante “Kira,” while the mysterious detective L leads a global investigation to stop him. Light manipulates allies like Misa Amane and uses the help of shinigami such as Ryuk to eliminate enemies, eventually killing L and taking his place in the investigation. Years later, L’s successors Near and Mello continue the pursuit and ultimately expose Light as Kira; cornered and wounded, Light asks Ryuk for help, but Ryuk writes Light’s name in the Death Note, killing him and ending Kira’s reign.
